World Gin Day is an entire day dedicated to celebrating gin, with Sunday saved for much needed recovery… People all across the globe celebrate by drinking gin either neat, with tonic or in a cocktail.

You can see a full list of gin events happening around the world here.
If you prefer to enjoy gin at home we’ve picked out some great gins to enjoy.

Forager’s Black Label Gin

The idea was to take a super-premium gin to the finest possible point. Spare no expense in it’s development, it’s flavors or styling. Craft something that not only tasted incredible, and made the best drinks, but would be treasured by those who own it. Truly savored and the pinnacle of any gin collection.

Set to launch on World Gin Day, June 10th 2017, and price tag of £120 per bottle (700ml), Forager’s Black Label Mountain Strength Gin is about bold flavors, the finest hand-foraged botanicals, and of course the pure mountain waters from the hills of Snowdonia. Beautiful styled, it will be presented in a crafted oak case, creating a rare, super-elegant gin which will see it’s annual production limited to just 50 bottles per year.

House of Elrick

House of Elrick gin is a premium Scottish artisan gin distilled with hand-picked botanicals. As refreshing as it is aromatic, it is the only spirit made with purified water taken directly from Loch Ness. A compliment of juniper, coriander seeds, angelica root and citrus peel, built around a core of heather, pink peppercorns, sweet fennel and rose petals results in a bold taste profile that can be enjoyed over ice or as part of a delicious cocktail

The Laird’s Negroni

30ml House of Elrick Gin
25ml Campari
25ml La Quintinye Vermouth Royal

Reward yourself with a moment of relaxation and pure pleasure with this classic cocktail, carefully blending House of Elrick gin, Campari, and La Quintinye Vermouth Royal together over ice with a grated zest of orange. Smoke a low ball glass with cinnamon, and strain the mixture onto an ice sphere or oversized ice cube. Garnish with fresh heather wrapped in a twist of orange zest.

Isle of Wight Distillery HMS Victory Gin

In partnership with the National Museum of the Royal Navy, Victory is a smooth yet commanding Navy strength gin with big hits of pepper & oak from grains of paradise & citrus undertones attributed to lemon zest. Inspired by the Royal Navy’s most illustrious warship, HMS Victory, our infusion of carefully selected botanicals recreate the style of gin drunk by Naval Officers during the Battle of Trafalgar. With a portion of the profits funding the ongoing restoration project of HMS Victory this is our testament to the story of ‘Navy Strength’ and the heroes who used to enjoy a well deserved tipple, we’ll drink to that!

Conker Gin

Conker Spirit brought us their Dorset Dry Gin in April 2015, the first distillery to launch in the County. Whilst still a proper classic gin, led by a dry Macedonian juniper heart, the subtle incorporation of the Dorset notes of elderberries, samphire and handpicked New Forest gorse flowers brings bright and refreshing lighter notes to Conker.

In the same spirit of innovation, Conker Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur is one of the first in the UK – an uncompromising dark and fruity tribute to the true taste of Dorset-roasted espresso.

Conker Espresso Martini

25ml Conker Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur
50ml Goral Vodka
25ml Espresso
25ml Simple Sugar Syrup

Shake all ingredients together in a shaker, double strain into a coupe glass and garnish with coffee beans.

Bishop’s Gin

Half a millennium ago, give or take a couple of decades, Bishop John Ponet of Winchester was kicking up all sorts of fuss. He was a resistance theorist who dedicated himself to fighting the divine right of kings. He was a political thinker and staunchly anti-monarchy, sort of like the Morrissey of the 1500s…

Bishop’s Gin is a tribute to this maverick, aiming to capture his character in spirit form and unleash it on the world. The gin is owned by Ponet Spirits, which in turn is owned by Thierry Ponet, an ancestor of John Ponet. Nasturtium is the most unusual ingredient here; it’s a bright, oily flower that carries a huge floral bouquet and a hint of watercress to taste.

French Bishop

45ml Bishop’s Gin
15ml Lemon Juice
10ml Sugar Syrup

Add gin, lemon juice and syrup to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake. Strain into an empty glass. Top up with champagne. Garnish with lemon peel.
