Celebrate Rum day with some refreshing new takes on one of the best spirits in the world.

MATUGGA GOLDEN LEOPARDESS

50ml Matugga Golden Rum
30ml passion fruit juice
15ml fresh lime juice
15ml sugar syrup
Fresh passion fruit garnish

Combine the golden rum, passion fruit juice, lime juice and sugar syrup in a cocktail shaker and shake well. Fine strain into a chilled coupette glass and serve garnished with half of fresh passion fruit, placing seeds on the top.

Matugga Golden Rum is a small-batch, copper pot-distilled craft rum that is distilled in Cambridgeshire from East African sugarcane molasses. Finished in English oak casks, the award-winning rum has an intriguing smoky character that is full of evocative, juicy notes of tropical fruit and a smooth, long finish.

RON CUBAY’S PAPA DOMINGO

50ml Ron Cubay Anejo
15ml Punt E Mes
10ml Papaya Syrup
2 dashes Orange Bitters
Stirred with a Lime zest
Strain Into a chilled Martini Glass and garnish with a lemon zest.

A Perfect way to celebrate the day of rum with a cocktail made famous from an era in Cuba. Also easy to make at home, papayas are relatively available all year round. The punt e’ mes adds bitterness and complexity to the cocktail. The rum’s grassy and sugar cane note pair very well with Papaya fruit for a tropical twist on the El Presidente.

Ron Cubay is one of the newest brands to be exported from Cuba first produced in 1964 after the Cuban revolution, it was commissioned by the government to be created as the new modern brand hence its name RUM CUBA – RON CUBAY. The Anejo aged for 7years is the middle of the range imported to the UK with the 3yr old Carta Blanca and 10yr old reserva especial either side. Ron Cubay is produced in the heart of Cuba, in Santo Domingo, in the province of Villa Clara, which leads to it being called the pearl of the Cuban rums or being produced from the Heart of Cuba by locals.

ATLANTICO OLD FASHIONED

50ml Atlantico Private Cask Rum
1 Sugar cube
2 Dashes Angostura Bitters
1 Dash Orange bitters
1 Dash of water

Place the sugar cube in the bottom of a tumbler. Wet the cube with bitters and water then crush it. Add ice and Atlantico Private Cask Rum and stir.

Award-winning, hand-crafted rum from the Dominican Republic, Atlantico Rum, has three distinct rums in its collection: the Platino white rum, the Reserva aged dark rum and the Private Cask rum. Each offers distinct Latin flavour, produced the traditional way.
